Re: National Accreditation Webinar
The deadline for veterinarians applying to continue their accreditation is August 2, 2010. The National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP) website contains a link to a 15 minute webinar which contains valuable information regarding the new accreditation processes. The website address is: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/nvap/
Approximately 60,000 applications are expected to be received. Accredited veterinarians that have submitted their applications should continue to perform their accredited duties after the August 2, 2010 deadline. It will take some time to process all of the applications but it is expected that all applications will be processed by March 2011 and notices containing the veterinarian's new accreditation number and renewal date will be mailed or emailed once their application has been processed. The on-line training should be available as of March 2011 and veterinarians will have until 2013 to complete their continuing education requirements as outlined in the program changes. Additionally, there will be a NVAP booth at the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) convention in Atlanta, Georgia from July 31-August 3, 2010 to assist anyone with questions.
